Responsibilities

  • Study, analyze, recommend, and ultimately design and build new hybrid cloud-based environment(s) for DCO-S cloud initiatives, ensuring that critical applications are designed and optimized for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Integrate capabilities and models into the new cloud-based environment.
  • Define requirements for the DCO-S throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to include integrating, upgrading, and sustaining the hybrid cloud-based environment.
  • Back decisions with research and the “why/so what”, and articulate options, pros and cons for each recommendation.
  • Develop solutions architectures and evaluate architectural alternatives for hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
  • Guide the migration of legacy systems to a modern cloud platform solution and assist with the adoption into the DCO-S solution.
  • Design enterprise and systems security throughout the cloud development life cycle; translate technology and environmental conditions into security designs and processes.
  • Design and develop security requirements that mitigates risk while maintaining a cyber security operational capability across the USSF enterprise.
  • Maintain overall knowledge of, stay up to date with, and research industry best practices, trends, and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on the DCO-S software development strategies and possible implementation.
  • Verify architecture against DCO-S program requirements and goals. This includes participating in technical discussions, trade studies and working groups.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX/UI designers, and quality assurance, to define and deliver software solutions that meet DCO-S requirements and customer needs.
  • Interface with USSF Test Enterprise leadership, and training and program managers to explain security goals and mitigations relative to their priorities of cost, schedule and performance.
  • Provide regular updates, reports, and presentations on DCO-S software development progress, achievements, and challenges to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance protocols to guarantee the provision of dependable, secure, and regulation-compliant software solutions.
  • Champion process automation to reduce manual steps and improve reusability of solutions.
  • Utilize cloud services and technologies to architect and develop scalable and reliable software solutions.
